Men's Fellowship (PMF)

<p>As Presbyter of The Most Holy Trinity Presby Church, I recount that the Men’s Fellowship traces its roots far beyond its formal establishment in 1981, reaching back to the early missionary work of the Basel Mission in the Gold Coast. In those formative years, structured Christian activities such as Bible studies, moral instruction, and literacy in local languages laid a strong spiritual foundation for the Church. The emergence of the Men’s Bible Class, inspired partly by the success of the women’s groups, became a vital instrument for nurturing the spiritual lives of men. Despite a period of decline between 1934 and 1940 due to weakened Bible teaching, revival efforts led by Rev. E. V. Asihene in 1943 restored vitality to the Church through the reintroduction of the Men’s Bible Class, which spread across various congregations and regions.</p><p>The Men’s Fellowship, as it is known today, was formally born on November 21, 1981, following a national conference convened in Accra under the leadership of the late Bro. E. Q. Q. Sanniez. This marked the transition from Men’s Bible Class to a structured Fellowship within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, with a clear constitution and mission. The Fellowship was established to unite and mobilise men within the Church to support its spiritual and developmental agenda. Its objectives emphasise unity, disciplined Christian living, mutual support, and active contribution to the Church’s growth through members’ professional, vocational, and spiritual gifts, while working collaboratively with other generational groups to strengthen the body of Christ.</p>
